Ayinger Brau-Weisse is a bavarian hefe-weizen brewed in Germany, and brought to the US via Washington state.
Obviously, this is a unfiltered wheat beer. Being a bavarian hefe-weizen, there is the distinct taste that you get with a white ale. The taste isn’t as strong as a straight-up Belgian white, which is good because I’m not a huge fan of white ales.
The last thing I’ll say is: HEAD! When I started pouring into a glass, I got about an inch of beer and 4 inches of foam. Same thing on the second pour. I’m not opposed to head…in fact, I aim to get a fair amount with each glass I pour. This was an odd amount of head. Not sure what that means…maybe a beer expert could enlighten me.
