Red Rocket Ale – Wheat AND Red Ale in one beer!

Red Rocket AleNote: Enjoyed on February 18, 2009.

I’m sipping at this baby as I type! Picking this one up was an impulse buy. I was one bottle short of a full basket, and I was overwhelmed by the options…so I picked something with a neat label!

I am pleasantly surprised! This is a California beer, coming from what I assume is a microbrewery. It has 6.8% alcohol content.

The flavor is a unique blend which I don’t believe I have experienced before. From the label you would guess that it is a red ale, and you would be correct. The curveball is that it is also unfiltered. For lack of a better way to establish what I’m tasting, picture a Killians (but better quality obviously) mixed with a wheat beer.

This one would definitely be worth purchasing again.
