Will Fruli take a foothold in the U.S.?

Fruli Beer
Fruli is imported from Belgium. From what I read, it’s very popular in Europe, and is gaining momentum in the states. It even has its own unofficial website (Fruli.com).

I was personally expecting something similar to a Pete’s Wicked Ale – Strawberry Blonde. WRONG! Frulii is a berry-blast…closer to a wine cooler in my opinion. The up-side is that it has real strawberry in it, so a comparison to wine cooler really isn’t fair of me.

Fruli is 4.1% ABV. The label claims that it uses a Belgian White base beer, and then adds strawberry. The fruit completely masks any beer-related flavor.

For me, it was definitely worth trying. My wife, who hates beer, even tried some. Although all the hype says that Fruli is coming to a bar near you, I can’t imagine sitting down and ordering one!
