Mikkeller Beer Geek Brunch Weasel

Mikkel Beer Geek Brunch Weasel
I’m sipping at a delicious 1pt 9oz bottle of Mikkel Beer Geek Brunch Weasel. Above and beyond the odd-ass name, this one is unique in a number of ways. First and foremost, it’s made using coffee beans. Not unique you say? Well how about coffee beans that have been crapped out of a weasel?

Once you get your mind wrapped around the shit-beans issue, you can begin to enjoy the beer. The first thing I enjoyed was head…spilling ALL over my counter. I wasn’t prepared for 7 inches of head for each 3 inches of beer I poured! It’s all good though. The head was thick and reminded me of a snow globe as bubbles and liquid mixed.

The smell is of sweet alcohol. The “traditional” stout smell comes through as well.

The taste is phenomenal! Smooth, creamy, and chocolaty coffee sweetness from the very start to the aftertaste! Very little bitterness at all. I’m drinking it too fast! This is an oatmeal stout, however I feel like the chocolate and coffee masks much of the oatmeal flavor. For 10.9% ABV, this beer goes down WAY too quickly and I could really get me into some trouble!

My hat is off to the Mikkeller brewery (Grimstad, Norway) for producing a unique, and mighty delicious beverage!
