Sherwood Forest Maiden’s Blueberry Ale

Sherwood Forest Maiden's Blueberry Ale
My entire living room smells of sweet blueberries! Yummo. It even caught my wife’s attention sitting on the other end of the couch. The aroma is very strong.

Before I continue, let’s recap other blueberry beers I have recently reviewed:

Wachusett Blueberry – More on the bitter side, good.
Seadog Blueberry – More on the sweet side, great!

Before I take my first sip, I have to assume that the flavor is going to be thoroughly sweet as well. SURPRISE! Not the case…at least not cold out of the fridge (let’s see if things change as it warms up). There’s a sweet start to the beer, but it quickly turns more bitter than sweet.

5.46% ABV. Lots of bubbly. *hic* *burrrrrp in my dog’s face* (He likes it too!)

…10 minutes later…

Update!

Actually – No Update! I expected the flavors to change a bit, however they really didn’t. Maybe some of the bitter became more mild, but not a lot. The carbonation definitely didn’t change! *delicious blueberry buuuurp*

As far as blueberry beer, this fair Maiden is going to fall into the #2 slot behind Seadog. Quality beer.
