Shock Top

Shock Top
Up until this point I’ve reviewed mostly craft beer from microbreweries. Today is the exception to the rule. A few weeks ago at my birthday bash I had some Shock Top on tap. It was a humid 90 degree day (odd for Massachusetts in April), and it was a perfect day for a delicious wheat beer. I fell in love with the drink.

At the time I wasn’t aware that it was brewed by Anheuser Busch (under the Michelob label). Someone called me out at the party. How could a beer reviewer like something from one of the major breweries? Well, I’ll tell you how…I’m not a beer snob!

Shock Top is indeed a delicious beer. I bought a six pack recently, and given that it’s a warm [almost] summer evening tonight, I’m finishing the last of the six-pack. I’m not ashamed.

The head is non-existent.
The color is a hazy yellow.
The ABV is 5.2.
The taste is of citrus.
It goes down eeeeasy.
