Victory Prima Pils

Victory Prima Pils
The wife is at yoga….I haven’t been to the gym in 3 weeks. You know what that means right? Must drink more beer…it distracts me from the fact that I’m out of shape!

Victory Prima Pils found it’s way into my fridge during one of my recent excursions to the local booze-emporium. The bright green label drew me in like a tractor beam.

This pilsner look as you might expect it to; it is light translucent yellow in color. An inch or so of thin head, which dissipates quickly with limited lacing.

The beer is thin and light, but if you think light & thin means a lack of flavor, you’re mistaken. The Victory Prima Pils has significant bitter hopsage, as well as some citrus notes (smells like orange, tastes like grapefruit). On a related note, I’ve been picking up grapefruit a lot lately. I’m thinking that my pallet is telling me grapefruit whenever I get a hoppy beer that has citrus (e.g. my brain says bitter + citrus = grapefruit).

My 12oz bottle doesn’t state the ABV, however a quick google returns 5.3%. Overall, I like the Pils. It’s nice to have a beer that’s on the lighter side but still has character!

  1. You can’t beat a nice refreshingly citrusy beer, especially with summer on its way – definitely the time to discover more weizens!
