Dogfish Head Aprihop

Dogfish Head Aprihop
NOTE: We were without internet for the last 24 hours. The below review was one I wrote last night while we were still offline:

Went to my first tweetup tonight. (For non-Twitter people, that’s when a bunch of Twitter-a-holics get together to hang out). It was an Eco-tweet-up which my wife was invited to. I tagged along, but found a lot of people who were also interested in beer! Good times.

At the tweetup someone recommended a beer that was made with apricot. I mentioned that Dogfish Head Aprihop was next on my to-review list. So here we go!

The color is auburn. Had some head, but it dissipated while I made dinner (peroggies and green beans).

The smell is mostly of hops. I was expecting an obvious apricot scent, but it was nowhere to be found.

Cold, it tasted like your average IPA, and I was a little worried that I had finally found a Dogfish Head beer that was just average. Sweet apricot clearly shows up in the taste after letting it warm up for about. The apricot flavor could probably be stronger, but I won’t hold that against the folks at Dogfish.

This beer is easy drinking. Lightly carbonated, and relatively low ABV (7.0%).
