Saranac Black and Tan

Saranac Black and Tan
Last chance for Saranac to be redeemed. In response to my so-so reviews of prior Saranac brews, my twitter beer buddies @sarah_connors and @ConstantCritic suggested I try the Black and Tan. It just so happened that my last bottle of Saranac in the fridge was just that!

The beer is definitely full flavored. I could probably sip at it all evening long and find new flavors. At first, it was a little smokey. Then I started picking the flavor apart, and realized it’s malty sweet in places. Digging deeper, I found chocolate and coffee. There’s a slightly bitter ending and aftertaste which melts away after 30 seconds or so.

It’s 5.4% ABV, and quite drinkable. I recommend that you take your time drinking it so you can soak up all the different flavors.

As far as Saranac goes, my friends were right…this is the best one.
