Speakeasy Prohibition Ale

Speakeasy Prohibition Ale
Sitting down to watch Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. Beautiful night. Sunny and temps in the upper 70s. Can’t ask for better New England weather. Especially given that it rained for the entire month of June.

The 6.1% ABV Speakeasy has a really cool bottle. Take a look at the cool looking eyes that stare at you from the neck of the bottle. Slightly creepy even. Top marks for presentation though.

Speaking of presentation, the Ale is quite dark in color. Mahogany color. Opaque. A fair amount of head, which hangs around. The beer has been sitting for 5 minutes and it still has a quarter inch of foam still floating around on top.

The aroma is surprisingly hoppy. Pungent too…filling up the immediate area with tasty smells.

The taste is pleasant. Reminds me of a mild IPA. Definitely hoppy, but balanced well with malt. Finishes more sweet than bitter. A decent beer all around.

Now…time to watch werewolves and vampires fight it out!!!
