Honey Moon Summer Ale

Honey Moon Summer Ale
Wow, have the last few days been hot. Upper 80s to mid-90s all weekend long and it’s supposed to stay that way. Can’t complain too much. It rained all June and we all complained about having no summer. Well, it’s here!

To celebrate the arrival of summer, I’m drinking a Summer Moon from Blue Moon Brewery. I’ve had a few of Blue Moon’s offerings, and I’ve always enjoyed them. The last one I reviewed was their spring offering – lime-flavored Rising Moon.

On a night like tonight, the Honey Moon is going down fast. I had a bunch of it in my fridge, left-over from my wife’s birthday party. 5.2% ABV only helps the drinkability. I can’t comment on color, or head…I’m drinking this straight out of the bottle tonight. The flavor is great. Stone cold out of the fridge, you’ll be surprised to find a lot of bitter dominating the taste. Doesn’t take long for the bitterness to fade, being replaced by sweet honey flavors. A hint of orange can also be detected, but again, mostly honey. Once again, I approve of a Blue Moon beverage.
