Boulder Beer Cold Hop and Hazed & Infused

On Saturday evening we had dinner at our friends Sean & Kerry’s house. Kerry made us a delicious Mediterranean meal and then we played an excellent card game called Bohnanza. The game might sound complicated, but it really isn’t. Super fan. Highly recommended. We also reviewed a couple of beers from Boulder Beer company:

Boulder Beer Cold Hop was a good beer. What aroma it did have was hoppy-ish. The beer is a reddish caramel color (translucent), quite pretty actually. It poured with a bunch of fluffy head. All around a sexy looking beer.

As for flavors, the three of us all agreed that there was sweetness up front, but the exact flavor was varied:
Sean – Honey
Kerry – Grapefruit
Me – Unknown fruit, but not grapefruit. Maybe apple.

Funny how beer can be so mysterious. Part of the reason I love it so much!!! In summary, we all enjoyed this British style ale.

The Boulder Beer Hazed & Infused was a let down. Color was red, cloudy. Significantly less head than we saw with the Cold Hop.

Flavors were lacking. Between Sean and I, we couldn’t come up with anything to say; bland beer. Kerry, on the other hand, said that the beer tasted like “Leprechauns and Rainbows”. OK, so maybe that had to do with the fact that she was two double margaritas deep at that point.

I should say that we didn’t hate Hazed & Infused. We were just bored by it.
