Widmer Drop Top Amber Ale

Widmer Drop Top Amber Ale
Tonight marked the first night of the next MBA course I’m taking: Marketing Management. It’s a hybrid course: most of it is online, with a handful of in-person meetings. Tonight the professor let us out early, which always rocks. The class should be fun…lots of good guys in the class, including a couple of my buddies from prior classes (these two gentlemen will hopefully make an appearance here in the form of a guest review *nudge nudge fellas*).

I’ve had a couple of bottles of Widmer Drop Top Amber Ale sitting in the fridge since our last big party a number of weeks back. Tonight seems like a good time to break the bottles out. Upon being poured, the beer is….you guessed it….amber in color. Minimal head that disappears in a flash.

Despite the lack of head, it has great aroma. Smells a of vanilla and sweet malts. The flavor is equally pleasing. Caramel and Vanilla dominate the flavor. The mouthfeel is nice: smooth and low on the fizzometer.

So lets review: good looking, good feeling, smells good, tastes good. Good beer. Nuff said? I’m kicking this first bottle and moving onto the second.

I live in the Sacramento area & have purchased this product in the past at Bel Air but can’t find it now.

    Where can I purchase it?

It is a favorite with my guests.

    Thanks!!

    Cindi:

Being from the east coast, I have no idea where in Sacramento you can get the beer. I would recommend you contact Widmer via their website. Most breweries are very helpful in providing that kind of info.

    Good luck!
