Flying Dog Dogtoberfest

Tonight’s beer is Flyingdog Dogtoberfest. I have reviewed a number of Flyingdog beers in the past. Generally speaking, I love their stuff. I tend to find it strong, but unique.

This seasonal selection isn’t as strong as others I have had. It comes in at 5.3% ABV. The color is a reddish amber (auburn?) color. Surprisingly, it smells a little boozy, sweet and boozy that is.

The flavor reminds me a touch of a pumpkin ale at first. The beer is noted by caramel undertones. It finishes ever so slightly bitter and kinda dry. A good beer.

I’m hungry. To the snack machine (a.k.a. my kitchen).
