Introduction
For months I have been working to recruit guest beer reviewers. Why? Two main reasons. First, I want to open up the beer-reviewing realm to the masses. My invitation is primarily directed at those of you who enjoy beer, but have never formally reviewed it. Secondly, I’m asking other beer bloggers if they want to do a guest review and promote their blog. In turn, I hope to do a reciprocating guest review on their site.
So in short, who are the best candidates to do a guest review on Lost in the Beer Aisle? Anyone who loves beer!
Previously, I had been emailing people the instructions for doing a guest review. It seems easier to post it to the site, so see below if you’re interested!
Steps
Your submission should include the following:
Writing Style
Please keep in mind that this blog in intended to be non-beer-douchey. That means that the review should be down to earth. Don’t get too poetic or use complicated long words. The KISS (keep it simple stupid) methodology is best.
Review Suggestions
If you’ve never written a beer review, here are some things you can talk about. You do NOT have to talk about any or all of these. The list is for inspirational purposes.
Post Length
3-4 paragraphs should be enough to get the job done. Shorter blog posts = easier reading.
Accuracy (or the lack there of)
I’m a self-admitted beer-fool…I know very little about beer, and I’m enjoying learning by the process of drinking! With that in mind, I don’t expect accuracy in my OWN posts, let alone guest posts. If you don’t have prior beer-reviewing experience, don’t be afraid to say what you think and take your best guess.
Picture
You must include a picture of the bottle. If you want to provide additional pictures, then by all means.
Optional Beer Brainstorm
If you like, you can let me know what beer you’ll be reviewing, and I will get my hands on some of it ASAP…we can both try it and share thoughts before you do a write-up. More fun for everyone!
Not so small print: As the owner of Lostinthebeeraisle, I reserve the right to edit guest reviews as I see fit. I will not make massive changes to your commentary…if massive changes are needed, the review will be rejected. Please re-read the style guidelines above to avoid edits or rejection.
