It’s been another busy Thursday. I got up at 5:00 to play 9-holes of golf. I shot a 48, which is better than my 52 average. I then worked from 8:30 – 5:00. Class from 6-8 (got out an hour early). A wholesome dinner of hot pockets and cranberry juice at 8:30.
Now we’re chilling on the couch watching the movie “The Great Debaters”. I just cracked a bottle of this Goose Island Honker’s Ale. I do believe this is my first ever Goose Island brew. This particular specimen was another brew that was left at my house courtesy poker buddies.
The beer smells IPA-ish. Hoppy for sure. Citrusy hops I bet.
The head is ample here. The beer is a caramel color.
I’m surprised that this Honker’s isn’t more bitter tasting. I expected much more given the hoppy aroma. It’s actually pretty mild. There’s definitely citrusy hops in the flavor, but there isn’t any big hop-whollop. It’s balanced out with some malty sweetness.
