Mayflower Golden Ale

Tomorrow is the big day. Boston Craft Beer Tweetup Part Deuce. I’m pretty stoked. And by “pretty” I mean totally, entirely, and ridiculously. Can’t wait to see friends and meet new ones. We’re over 80 RSVPs, so having 40-50 people show up will be no problem.

Going to chill out this evening with a bottle of Mayflower Golden Ale. Bought a six-pack of this stuff last weekend. Chugged through four of them in one night, saved a couple for later. It’s later.

This is the first time I’ve tried anything from Mayflower. They are local to me represent’n Plymouth, MA. Very similar to Wednesday’s review of Sammy Summer, I’m drinking this summery brew out of the bottle.

The brew is ever-so-slightly bitter at first. It then becomes every-so-slightly malty (honey flavors?). It finishes quite dry (as promised by the label). It comes across as a light version of a craft beer and would serve as an excellent cross-over beer for those of you who are traditional macro beer drinkers. An wonderful brew to suck down on a summer night.
