Yuengling Amber

Yuengling Amber

Tonight was poker night. I lost. Got home late, but wanted to post something I’ve had in my back pocket. Two and a half weeks ago we babysat our nephew for the first time. My brother-in-law Dave had recently been to Pennsylvania and had come back with a case of Yuengling. Naturally, I helped myself to a can.

I had never had the brew, but certainly had heard plenty about it.

The beer was smooth and malty. Creamy too. Not much for aftertaste. An all around good beer. Quite comparable to Narragansett Lager in my mind. Not a Coors Light or Bud Light, but one step above.

Later that weekend Dave took me to the Patriots game (versus Baltimore…fantastic game) and we drank some more Yuengling while tailgating. Good beer and good times!

Now I must go sulk about playing bad cards tonight…

  1. I don’t get the gushing over Yuengling, but it is a good, solid beer that I’ll drink when it’s one of the only things available, but I wouldn’t go crazy trying to get people to buy it for me. I’d put it a few steps above ‘Gansett (which I would put only 1 step above Bud and a step below Coors Original) and a step below Sam Adams Boston Lager.

  2. What we love about Yuengling is the combination or taste, drinkability and price. Compare those to most other beers, and it comes out on top. Sure if the price didnt factor in, we would go with other stuff, but “in this economy” price matters.

    Cheers
