Oskar Blues Dale’s Pale Ale

Oskar Blues Dale's Pale Ale

Another day in the bag. Not much interesting to tell about the day. In the absence of interesting shit to talk about, I thought I would give you a heads-up about a new series I’m starting on the site. It’s going to be called “Better Know A Blogger” and I’m going to take periodic breaks from reviewing beer to give you folks more insight into me. The past. The present. The future. I’m putting the final touches on the first post and you should see it later this week.

Oskar Blues Dale's Pale Ale

Tonight I’m drinking a Dale’s Pale Ale. My understanding is that this baby is the flagship of Oskar Blue’s line-up. It smells sweet, but that’s deceptive. The flavor starts sweet, but turns bitter quick. The flavor of pine lingers F-O-R-E-V-E-R on the back of your tongue. 6.5% ABV.

For me this isn’t the best pale ale. As you know, I like em a little more on the sweet side. If you’re down with pale ales and down with piney hops, you’ll love this one.

I love Dales, but I am a recovering hophead. So I want the clean piney hops. I do like the sweeter pales ales, but cannot put down the Dales.

Good take. I agree that this beer seems to yearn to push into IPA territory. Its a good beer, but you need to know what your getting into. It seems that quite a few Pale Ales I’ve had recently are on the “hop-in-the-face” side of the spectrum. Cheers
