Left Hand Wake Up Dead

Quickest recap of a day ever:

Morning: Sitting at the mechanic’s shop. Winter tire rotation.
Afternoon: Work…slow, slow work.
Evening: Grocery shopping, followed by a couple of Narragansett Lagers and French bread pizza.
Now: Left Hand Wake up Dead.

Left Hand Wake Up Dead

Wake up Dead would have made an awesome selection for the recent zombie-themed beer brainstorm I did with Silvio. Left Hand is getting pretty well known for making up some bad-ass labels. Wake up Dead doesn’t disappoint in that department.

The brew smells of coffee and roasted malts. A lot of the same in the flavor. Quite complex. Lots of bite courtesy of the roasted malts. Some balancing going on with vanilla flavors. I’m not quite digging the after-taste…strange metallic flavor.

I’m now approaching the bottom of the giant bottle. By far the coffee flavor is the most obvious. It’s big and bold and in your face. This is an above average beer and is worth a try.
