Weyerbacher Insanity

Weyerbacher Insanity

Great day at work. It’s time to kick off the weekend right. Weyerbacher Insanity. English Barleywine. 11.1% ABV!

I meant to drink this puppy last night. I had finished up my fall MBA class and was going to celebrate. Celebration plans turned into crashing plans. This beer shall not languish another day! TO THE FRIDGE!!!!

I believe it’s been a little while since I had a good barleywine…over a month in fact!

This Insanity smells of dark fruit. Raisins to the max. Smells sweet too.

And BANGO! The flavors are pretty close to the aroma actually. Sweet through and through, no question about that. Stone cold, the beer is great. I’m worried that it will get syrupy warm, so I’m going to plow through it pretty quick if possible. Given how sweet it is, how strong the raisin/caramel flavors are, and the massive ABV, you definitely don’t want to drink more than one of these puppies. I do recommend you give this one a go though!

  1. pretty sure I saw this at Harrington Liquors in Chelmsford tonight (beer run!). I love me some Barley Wines around this time of year. Sounds like a solid pick.
