Heavy Seas Gold Ale

Heavy Seas Gold Ale

Today is apparently New Beer’s Eve in America. The unofficial holiday celebrates the end of prohibition. For me, I frankly don’t give a crap…every day is New Beer’s Eve for me!

To “celebrate” I’m drinking a Heavy Seas Gold Ale. At first I assumed the beer was a standard American amber, however a quick goolging revealed that it’s actually a blonde.

Smells sweet and fruity. Tastes pretty much the same. Citrus flavors mix with malty sweetness. Virtually no bitter flavor, although I do feel like I’m picking up some hop flavor (meaning the beer is uber balanced).

Another notable feature is the stinging carbonation.

A pretty good beer, albeit not particularly special in any way.

On a final note, for those of you paying attention, I picked this beer up on a recent run to the liquor store. This is one of the beers I blurred out so not to give away the answer for a game of 20 questions.

In any event, did anyone have a clue that the Heavy Seas Gold Ale was one of the bottles I blurred?
