Craft Beer Meetup – April 2011 (Recap)

This past Saturday marked the 2nd Metrowest beer meetup. The event was held at the British Beer Company in Framingham, MA.

The event went along as most of our craft beer meetups go. People came. People chatted. People drank great beer. We also had the Bruins game on and the crowd cheered them on to a HUGE win over the Flyers.

The BBC provided a TON of food. Homemade potato chips, pizza, wings, nachos, onion rings, fries, and possibly more that I simply missed.

We had great door prizes to give out and all four of them went to women. Go craft beer drinking women! The event had about 50% females show up, which is awesome and really speaks to where craft beer is going. Congrats to all our door prize winners.

As usual, I must thank some people…

Graham Wilson, marketing director for BBC. I worked directly with Graham to schedule the event. Graham was also responsible for bringing in Jon Cadoux.

Jon Cadoux, co-owner and head brewer for Peak Organic. Jon was incredibly personable, opting to hang out with the crowd rather than give a speech about Peak.

Many thanks to Julio’s liquor store. Your support of LIBA events is awesome. Extra special thanks to Matt, Julio’s beer manager for coming out and joining us!

Caity Sherlock, photographer. Thank you Caity for volunteering your time and taking such great pictures. You can see more of her work on her Flickr account or at her website.

The British Beer Company. Thank you for hosting us, for the delicious food, and for the gift certificates!

The attendees. Thank you for making this a success. With only 35 RSVPs I was sure the event was going to flop. Over 30 people showed up, saving my butt. THANK YOU ALL!
