Samuel Adams Honey B’s Lavender Ale

Samuel Adams Honey B's Lavender Ale

Tonight has been go-go-go from the second I got home. Got a chance to come into the house, put down my stuff, say hello to the dog. We were then off to the grocery store. Dinner followed. I then sat down for a couple of hours to work on a LIBA collaboration I’m hashing out. Wheeeew! It’s definitely beer time.

To unwind I’m trying this Samuel Adams Longshot Honey B’s Lavender Ale. Frankly, I wasn’t looking forward to trying this. Flowery / herby ales just don’t jive with me. The first beer that comes to mind when I think of this style is the Jasmine Pale Ale by Rock Art Brewery….blech!

I have to tell you though, this Longshot is nothing like other herbed beers I have tried. It smells sweet with a hint of lavender. The flavor is honey sweet with a just a taste of lavender. There is just enough carbonation to keep the beer from being syrupy. Hop heads may not like the beer, as there is no remarkable hop flavor to be had. I’m totally digging the beer – unique, interesting, and yummy!
