Man, what a long day. Long busy day at work, followed by a busy night of chores around the house. I still have plenty of crap to do, including planning our summer vacation, but for now I have to call it quits and get to drinking some beer.

Tonight I’m drinking “the blue one“.

“The blue one” is a quadruple style beer that I’ve heard really good things about. I’m expecting spicy & malty deliciousness. The light tan head and the dark brown color has got me thirsty. Let’s rock!

The first whiff is a blast of banana & clove. HOLY HELL that smells strong. There’s a hint of turd smell too…wait check that, the dog farted; wifey is lighting a candle.

The brew is SO damn delicious. I’m digging it from the first sip. Strong spicy flavors – bready, banana-ish, and various other flavors swirling around in there. Complex.

I’m glad this came in a 12oz bottle, as I can’t imagine enjoying any more of this 10% ABV beast. Although not a “drinking” beer, St. Bernardus Abt 12 makes one hell of a chill-out single-serving type of beer.
