WOW! What a boring day today. No tornadoes. No Bruins game. No nothin’. Just work, some church, and now Thursday night TV on NBC. That’s the wife’s gig…the only show I occasionally watch is the Office. She’s so zoned in on the TV on Thursdays that I can get away with doing whatever I want…she barely notices me in the room. Just now I said something to her and she didn’t appear to notice I was speaking.
I can hardly talk though. When I’m typing (and especially blogging) the entire world around me ceases to exist. I can’t see or hear anything going on around me. Drives the wife nuts.
Tonight I’m reviewing Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA. I recently realized I have never reviewed this beer. How I managed to review 19 other DFH brews and miss this one, I’m not sure.
The 60 minute has a strong grapefruit aroma which doesn’t disappoint or mislead…the taste is a grapefruit drop-kick in your kisser. It finishes with a piney bitterness. Stingy carbonation sticks out to me. It’s not all hops though and there’s a small amount of malt flavor in there to start balancing it out. I wouldn’t ever call the beer balanced though. This one is for hop heads.

Huh. I don’t know how you missed this one either. I used to like the 90 minute a lot, but it changed and got too hoppy and bitter for me. The 60 minute I always thought was pretty meh.
One of my absolute favorites. I think I’ve actually repeated this at least a few times for my reviews. Over the past year, Dogfish decided they didn’t want to be the “60 Minute Brewery” or something like that. I can’t blame them for wanting to keep pushing the envelope in other directions, but that means I get 60 Minute about one delivery per month instead of anytime I want it.
Regardless, I love this one, and stick by my proven theorem: 60> 90
I always enjoyed this one. Don’t much care for the sweetness of the 90 and 120.
I’ve tried a lot of DH and I’m not a huge fan, although I want to be. I like this one ok and surprising really liked the Aprihop
