I’m continuing my summer night of IPAs with Tremont Freedom Trail IPA. This is an English IPA, which should be a world different from the Opa-Opa Hop Express I just drank. That shit seared my tongue off courtesy “the bitter”.
One whiff of the Freedom Trail IPA and I know my hunch is correct. It smells sweet rather than hoppy. And BANG! Damn, that’s delicious. Overall a well balanced brew. Starts out REALLY malty and slowly fades into just a touch of piney hop aftertaste.
This is why I like English IPAs. They typically bring the best of both worlds without going overboard on either end of the sweet/bitter spectrum.
Time to go now. Dog just farted.
