This weekend I attended the Salem Jazz & Soul Festival in Salem, MA. My wife had a booth at the event and was hawking her wares. I acted as pack mule, helping tote boxes, set up the tent, run for food and the like. I did have quite a bit of fun. The weather was great and I got in some good reading as well as played a ton of pinball at the local arcade.
Adding to the awesomeness of the weekend, I stumbled upon a vendor selling sweet hand blow beer glasses. Angelic Glass is based out of Western Massachusetts. One of the owners Gabriel spent some time with me describing the process. You may have seen glasses like this on the internet, however Gabriel claims these are different; other glass blowers CUT the glass at the top. Angelic Glass actually expands the neck of the bottle and makes no cuts. At first it took 10 bottles to get just one right…a lot of pain staking work to say the least. After a lot of practice Gabriel now only breaks 1 in 10 bottles.
I ended up buying a bad-ass Stone IPA glass (pictured below). I expect you’ll see the glass in some of my future reviews.
