Yesterday I spent the afternoon with my buddy Norm the Beer Nut. He writes beer articles for the Metrowest Daily News. He is doing a piece on a blind taste test of black IPAs and I was honored to be a guest judge! We tried 11 different Black IPAs. The results were a bit exciting, and a little bit surprising. When the article goes live next week, I’ll share a link for everyone. Until then I’m sworn to secrecy; you’ll have to wait to see which beer was the unanimous favorite.
Many thanks to Norm for the great beer and even better company!
Tonight I’m sucking down a bottle of Ipswich Ale. I was trying to get a guest review of this beer from my father-in-law – he was drinking it on Saturday. No go. The most I could get out of him was that he was a lager fan and this ale was OK and “grew on him the more he drank it”.
The brew is lemony, light and summery. There isn’t a whole lot that is remarkable, but I’m sucking it down rapidly just the same. High marks for drinkability!
