Cambridge Brewing Company – The Great Pumpkin Ale

Cambridge The Great Pumpkin Ale

I recently mentioned that I was running in the morning. Fact of the matter is, my wife and I are getting relatively serious about running. For the last two months we’ve run at least three times a week, usually running around 2-2.5 miles each time. Two weeks ago we dropped a chunk of change on fitted running shoes and this past weekend we ponied up and ran our first 5K. With the weather getting cold, we’re now shopping around for cold running gear.

IF we can stick to our regiment through the winter, I’m sure we’ll continue to run for a LONG time to come. They say running is addictive, and they are right. Does this make me one of those “beer runners”?

Tonight I’m fueling up for tomorrow’s early morning run with some CBC Great Pumpkin Ale. This is a locally distributed beer coming out of Cambridge Brewing Company in Cambridge, MA. This is their first ever distributed beer. I tried it for the first time while “off duty” on Norm’s pub crawl.

This pumpkin beer is fan-freaking-tastic. For me, this is right smack dab where I want a pumpkin beer to be. Bold, spicy, pumpkin aromas and flavors. Long, long aftertaste will leave your mouth watering for another sip.

And best of all? It’s only 4.4% ABV. You would never guess – the flavors are so strong you’d guess it’s at least 6 or 7%.

A must try for anyone living in or visiting Massachusetts during the fall months.
