Harpoon IPA

Harpoon IPA

Hopefully things will be slowing down a bit for me. Work is insanely busy and most nights I’m booked with some kind of plans outside of work. Last night it was dinner with co-workers and tonight it was class. Class got out earlier than expected, so I’m TOTALLY getting a beer review in!

This is the LAST beer in my entire stock. How did that happen? The last time I was without beer was….well….I don’t remember the last time!

Harpoon IPA

The beverage of choice is Harpoon IPA. Honestly, I’m not sure how I’m drinking this right now. A couple of weeks ago I hung out with a college buddy and drank ~86 ounces of this stuff in the span of a few hours. Yeah, note to self: don’t do that again.

If you know anything about my taste in beer, knowing that I drank that much of an IPA tells you one thing – it’s a mild IPA. Floral and piney hops are the main flavors, however a malty sweetness balances the beer right out. There is a long lasting bitter aftertaste that may turn off a newbie to IPAs. Harpoon IPA reminds me a lot of the English IPA because it is so well balanced.

While I won’t be drinking 80+ ounces of the stuff again, this bottle won’t be my last either. A refreshing and enjoyable beer.

Must run now. I need to make a beer shopping list!
