Last night I went to my first Bruins game of the year. A disappointing loss to the Hurricanes ensued, but it was still a good time. The crowd went insane in the 3rd period over some bad calls by the refs and trash began to rain down onto the ice. That, combined with 3 Bruins players and the coach getting thrown out of the game, made for a memorable night.
Tonight I’m just relaxing at home. There’s a movie going in the background (The Girl with a Pearl Earring). Nothing is exploding. No chase scenes. *snore*
I’m sipping on this Sixpoint Autumnation. I’ve recently become a fan of Sixpoint so I didn’t hesitate to pick up this fall seasonal from them when I was on my last beer run.
I swore two weeks ago that I was done with pumpkin beers. I should have known better!
The Autumnation has a killer head (see picture below). Fluffy and delicious looking; I could eat it with a spoon! The flavor of the beer is hop-hop-hoppy! Everything you know about pumpkin beers you can pretty much throw out the window before you try this beer. The floral and piney hops crush anything that would normally resemble spicy/pumpkin flavors.
And to that end, I have to admit that this is my least favorite beer from Sixpoint thus far. If you’re really into IPAs, you should try it – just don’t expect much in the way of pumpkin flavors.
