Tonight I should be doing a beer review. I have no excuse not to…other than being a lazy bastard. Good thing for me I have trusty guest reviewers like Greg to do the blogging for me! Greg….
After a long day today I am sitting down to enjoy a hoppy beer. Hoppy beers make me happy. Tonight’s beer is Great Divide Hercules Double IPA. I have had good experiences with other Great Divide beers so I have been looking forward to trying the Hercules. Hercules pours a nicely carbonated orangish copper color with a think 1 finger head. The smell is hops and some grapefruit. The Hercules DIPA leaves some long lasting lacing on the glass. The smells of the Hercules perfectly compliments the mood I am in right now. The first taste of this beer is hops followed by sweet maltiness with some balancing bitterness also fitting the mood I am in. The finish is drying and bittersweet which nicely follows the hop flavors. This beer definitely qualifies as a hop head’s dram and I love it. I also love Great Divide’s beer slogan (I am a sucker for a good beer slogan).
