Jack’s Abby Jabby Brau

Hey folks. Sorry I’ve been off the radar. I came down with the dreaded norovirus. Imagine throwing up while simultaneously crapping your brains out. That was the worst of it. There was lots of other icky stuff in between then and now, but I’ll spare you. I’m in no shape to review beer yet, but thankfully Greg has a guest review for us tonight…

Jack’s Abby Jabby Brau

I managed to get my hands on a bottle of Jack’s Abby Jabby Brau. Jack’s Abby is an all lager brewery that opened about 6 months ago in the metrowest suburbs of Boston. The Jabby Brau pours a golden straw color with a light, effervescent head. This beer has a nice subtle nose that hints to maltiness. The first taste is up front bitterness that is quite pleasant. The bitterness fades into a smooth nutty flavor. The malt flavor lingers on my tongue, asking me to take another sip. The Jabby Brau is very drinkable and refreshing. This would be a great beer to drink on a hot day. This would also be an excellent beer to introduce a “light beer drinker” to craft beer. Jack’s Abby recently signed a distribution deal to put bottles of their beer around Massachusetts, so keep your eye out for them in the near future.
