Narragansett Cream Ale

Narragansett Cream Ale

A couple of weeks ago I was ranting about not being able to refinance my mortgage. Well, I FINALLY found a mortgage company that knew what I was talking about and is willing to help out. I got a quote today and it looks like I can save a bunch of money AND reduce the duration of my loan. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet, but it appears to be a no-brainer.

Tonight when I got home I had a delicious surprise on my doorstep – Narragansett’s new Cream Ale! WOOT! Having just come off a review of an imperial cream ale, I have some frame of reference (although not a perfect comparison).

The beer is golden and transparent. It poured with some head that quickly dissipated. Mouthfeel wise, it has a bunch of carbonation. In the flavor department it’s kinda “grainy”. There’s noticeable, but not abundant hop flavor in there and a mild sweetness to accompany.

I REALLY wish I had a regular Gansett Lager to try side by side. Funny…I always have some in the fridge, just not tonight. I think the cream ale could replace the regular lager as my go-to beer!

P.S. This is way better in comparison to the aforementioned imperial cream ale.
