Berkshire Shabadoo Black and Tan Ale

Berkshire Shabadoo Black and Tan Ale

After a long hiatus, I’m back. Vacation in Mexico was absolutely terrific. I will post pictures and a brief recap to the website sometime this week. For now, I’m still getting back into the swing of “normal” life. Work was tough to go back to. Bills, chores, and even getting going again on the blog were also tough to pick up again. Mexico was, in every way shape and form, a complete escape from reality.

My welcome-back beer is a Berkshire Shabadoo Black and Tan Ale. Don’t ask me what “Shabadoo” is…I have no freaking clue. It does remind me of the gibberish in the dinner scene of the movie Billy Madison (see the 1:40 mark).

This black and tan reminds me of a coffee porter. It’s thin bodied and has a long roasted flavor. It’s well balanced, with some caramel maltiness accompanying the roastedness. Quite delicious, although not terribly complex or unique.
