Today has been crazy with work and school. I’m spent, so tonight you get a guest review from Greg…

Atlantic New Guy IPA

I spent a few days out of town so tonight I kicked back at home and cracked open a beer. Tonight I went with Atlantic New Guy IPA. I picked this up last weekend entirely on looks alone so I don’t have any idea what to expect. The New Guy pours a pale orange color with a nice, white, fluffy one finger head. The nose isn’t what I expected from an IPA. There are some hops and citrus flavors, but also an earthiness that I can’t identify. Its not at all unpleasant, just unexpected. On the first sip, I taste an earthiness that matches up with the nose. There is also a nice malt background and some clinging bitterness. There is some solid lacing on the glass as well. The New Guy finishes pretty quickly with some bitter dryness. The ABV isn’t given on the bottle, but it doesn’t taste very boozy, so it’s probably in the 5-6% range. Overall, I enjoyed this beer but I think it would be a better fall beer than a summer beer for me. It is a nice contrast from the usual hop bombs (that I love) on the market.
