It’s time for the first Oktoberfest beer of 2012. I held out this long in protest. Fall beers shouldn’t be on the shelves in August!

Jack’s Abby Copper Legend is in my crunk-mug this pimping evening. This stuff is a great example of an Oktoberfest in every aspect. The color is a burnt orange. There was a decent head that quickly dissipated. It smells like malts. It’s got a good amount of carbonation to keep your tongue fizzy and your belches strong. My tasty-buds pick up a bunch of malty sweetness (caramel) which gets balanced out by very mild hops at the tail end.

It’s damn drinkable, but at 6.2% ABV be careful how many of these you down! There is nothing special or fancy about the brew; if you’re looking for a classic Oktoberfest, this is your brew.
