Last week I was having a hard time getting motivated to review beer. I’m back in the zone now and ready to rock!
Tonight I’m in class (2 weeks down, 14 to go), but I’ve got the below review queued up for your reading pleasure. Enjoy!
Anytime I see a new bottle of Cambridge Brewing Company I have to pick it up. I don’t think I’ve missed a single first batch. Thus, when I saw the Heather Ale on store shelves recently, I snatched it!
The beer pours a murky (frankly unattractive) color. Lots of head, but no lacing on the glass. Heather is predominant in the aroma and can’t be missed. On the palate, you’re in for a unique experience. Heather/herbal flavors are first up. Next, there is a distinct earthiness and strong malt flavor.
As the beer warms it gets sweeter and sweeter. I’m surprised given that it’s only 5% ABV. While I like how unique this is, 22 ounces is too much for one sitting.
