Pioneer Pale Ale

This weekend was a busy one. I spent all day Saturday and all day Sunday helping my wife run an Ecolissa booth at the Natural Living Expo in Sturbridge, MA.

My mom came down for the weekend and helped out, which was cool. Moms brought me some Heady Topper from Vermont, as well as some more beer loot (seen above). Yup, best Mom ever!

Today (Sunday) I sneaked out of the convention to watch the Patriots game at V.I.P.’s – the bar at the Sturbridge Host Hotel. A shout out goes to the bartender Dave who provided some great game-time conversation.

During the game I was drinking Pioneer Pale Ale, which is brewed right in Sturbridge. The pale ale is pretty good. It’s well balanced with some grainy malts mixed with some citrus hops. It’s not going to knock your socks off, but it’s good example of the style!
