Tonight’s brew is The Shed Brewery’s IPA. The Shed used to be brewed up in Stowe VT but was acquired by Ottercreek Brewery which brews in Middlebury VT. This past summer I was up in VT and stopped into the Ottercreek brewpub. I got to try a couple of the Shed beers on tap and I found them to be tasty beers. Fast forward to last week when I was at Julio’s on my most recent beer run. I saw the Shed IPA was being distributed in six packs and I had to bring some home.
The IPA pours a hazy orange color with a fluffy yellowish one finger head. Right off the bat I can smell the hops. The hops smell citrusy, light and floral. The beer tastes better than I remember (and better than I noted in my Untappd app). It has an almost west coast hoppiness followed by a creamy bitterness. I don’t think the hops are overwhelming and the beer has a nice flavor flow. The Shed IPA has a medium length finish and at 6% ABV is very drinkable. I think I just found my new go to beer!
