Since there is a blizzard going on and we are not supposed to leave the house, I thought it would be a great opportunity to do a beer review. I know I am a little behind on this beer, but today’s beer is Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout. This has been the winter of stouts for me so it is only appropriate that I review a stout. I have mentioned to Lost on a few occasions how much I have been enjoying this beer and he keeps on telling me that I should review it so hopefully this review gets him off my back. On a side note, Lagunitas is one of my favorite breweries so I am looking forward to doing this write up.
The Cappuccino Stout pours a thick dark color with a two finger mocha colored head. It has a subdued coffee nose that just hints at the flavor to come. The coffee flavors come through on the first sip with some sharp spicy notes. The Cappuccino Stout has a medium/thick mouth feel and it goes down very smoothly. At 9.2% abv this stout can sneak up on you, but the alcohol adds a nice warmth to the flavor. I don’t know how available the Cappuccino Stout still is, but I recommend it to anyone who like coffee or stouts.
