I rarely talk about work, so without giving details I’ll say: I hate work. But that’s far outweighed and I have to remember…
I love the Bruins. I love beer. I love my wife. I love my pets. I love my car. I pretty much love everything but work…a necessary evil.
And work buys me beer, which brings me to today’s review: Jack’s Abby Private Rye. This is a 6% ABV Biere De Garde style lager. Dominant flavors are malt and malt. No, that wasn’t a typo. It brings a heavy body and a thick earthy and caramel malt flavor. Although it’s brewed with rye, I don’t pick up the strong spicy or peppery flavors I might expect. It does have a mild bitter earthy ending. Although I do like Jack’s Abby and virtually everything they do, this one isn’t my cup of tea.
