Tonight marks the beginning of a very long vacation for me. I kicked it off with a round of horrifically played golf. I swear ot God I’m getting worse the more I play! I get a chance to redeem myself tomorrow at a large tournament that I’m playing in with a bunch of co-workers.
Saturday brings an EPIC beer tasting that I will be holding. The crowd will be small, but the beers will be large…about 20 imperial IPAs. On Sunday we rest, and on Monday we leave for Hawaii!!!
As I settle in and try to forget the lost golf balls of this afternoon, I’m sipping on an Otter Creek Vermont Lager. This is yet another beer that my mom got me as a gift.
This brew, a Pilsner, is nothing to write home about. I’m normally a big fan of Otter Creek beer, but this one isn’t doing it for me. Upon popping the cap on the bottle, I immediately got waves of skunk-ish aroma. This kind of flavor and smell normally accompany green-bottle beer, so I was caught off guard. In addition, there is a grainy and bitter flavor to it.
If you’re into green-bottled pilsner, this might be a great choice for you.
