My wife and I spent this past Friday evening with our friends Sean and Kerry. It had been a very long time since we last saw Kerry, as she had been battling crippling back issues. We’re all very happy that she’s getting better now.
Our evening was pretty low key – beer and food on the porch, enjoying some steamy July weather. I was happy to get a chance to partake in some Russian River Redemption with my friends.
The Redemption is a 5.1% ABV blonde ale. It pours a very light orangeish yellow color. I thought it was summery and full of lemon citrus flavor. Sean agreed that it was mild with some yeasty characteristic. Kerry also concurred saying that she liked it because it was refreshing and not hoppy at all (right in her wheelhouse).
Overall a fantastic beer, although nothing like what I expected, as the other Russian River beers I’ve had have been big and complex.
