Utah Brewers Cooperative Wasatch Apricot Hefeweizen and Wasatch Ghostrider White IPA

Utah Brewers Wasatch Ghost Rider

Yesterday I talked about trying out some Wasatch and Squatters beers over the weekend. The Utah Beer Company that cranks these out just started distributing to the Massachusetts area, so be on the lookout for these brews.

Yesterday I reviewed the Squatters IPA and Squatters Hop Rising Double IPA. Today I’m reviewing the Apricot Hefeweizen and the Ghostrider White IPA. Both the hefe and the white IPA were great summer options, perfect for the pool party I was attending when I tried them.

The Ghostrider was lemony and light with floral and citrus flavors. It was the first of the beers I tried and it went down super quick as I sipped it from a red solo cup while pool-side.

The Apricot Hefeweizen was equally as refreshing and probably went down even faster. It smelled like fresh apricot and obviously tasted similarly. I found the aroma to be stronger than the actual flavor of apricot. If you’ve tried and liked Magic Hat #9, this beer is perfect for you.

Neither beer was complicated, complex or particularly interesting. However, when it comes to a summer “drinking beer”, you shouldn’t be looking for anything tricky; keeping it simple, refreshing and delicious works here.
