Today I played golf all day. It was an absolutely perfect summer day: 85 degrees and breezy. I played fairly well, hitting a number of very good shots. Of course, I had my fair share of bad-to-horrible shots too…but that’s golf.

Tomorrow I’m off to Mohegan Sun Casino to spend the weekend with friends Sean & Kerry. I’ve been studying black jack and it’s time to put it to the test, or in other words, donate a couple hundred bucks to the native Americans.

This evening I’m enjoying another beer from North Grafton, MA Banner Beer Company. It’s 4.0% ABV American Rye continues the Banner tradition of easy drinking craft session beer. American Rye is quite dark in appearance and pours with a monster head. It has a light body, which you would expect from the low alcohol content, but not by looking at the color. The flavors are dark as well, reminding me a bit of a very light porter. I pick up light roasted coffee, which is followed-up by peppery rye.

Not a bad beer, although really not working for me tonight.
