Tonight I’m having my send-off party thrown by co-workers in my honor. I don’t remember if I mentioned it, but I’m leaving the company I have been at for 14+ years to join a startup. It’s a very exciting (and nervous) time for me. Given that I’m going to be a number of beers deep this evening, I decided to queue up a review for you.
I drank this Kentucky Pumpkin Barrel Ale last night. Below are my thoughts.
Let me first say that Kentucky Bourbon Ale is probably the most popular post I’ve ever had on LIBA. It gets countless hits via Google search and I’ve been asked by readers countless times where they can get the beer.
So, when I saw the pumpkin variant of Kentucky Bourbon Ale, I knew I had to review it. And oh man, was my instinct correct!
Forget how the beer looks or smells…it tastes absolutely amazing. Oak, bourbon and vanilla hits you first. This is followed up by a massive swirl of sugar, cinnamon, pumpkin and spice. Everything ends up mixing together in an epic mouth-flavor-tornado.
I’ve found a new favorite pumpkin beer.
