Wachusett Imperial Pumpkin

Wachusett Imperial Pumpkin

Today was my first day on the new job. I have to admit, where before I was cool as the other side of the pillow, last night I started getting really nervous. It was silly, and I knew it. I mean, what can really go wrong on your first day??? Nothing went wrong and I had a great time. Everyone was super nice and I’m feeling very energized. Tonight I’m sneaking in a very quick beer review, as I’m off to do some work clothes shopping.

The beer under review is Wachusett Imperial Pumpkin. As I love Wachusett’s operation, I was really hoping I would like this beer. Sadly, I did not.

Although it smells spicy and festive, it starts off REALLY earthy in the flavor department. It was a bit overwhelming for me, as earthy flavors aren’t my favorite. As the beer warmed up, I picked up more and more spice (specifically cinnamon) as well as pumpkin flavor. It is 8% ABV, and I found the mouthfeel to be heavy. Between this heaviness and the earthiness, I tapped out.
