Lawson’s Finest Liquids Triple Play IPA

For the last couple of weeks my evening routine has pretty much been the same thing. I come home, I have dinner and the second I hit the couch to watch TV, I’m out cold. My “bedtime” has varied between 7:30 and 8:30pm! My work schedule could be blamed, but I’m honestly not getting up that much earlier than ever before. Instead, I blame my dog Brady. He almost always jumps up on the couch and spoons with me and before long he’s out cold, snoring or making a grunting noise that I believe his attempt to “purr” (he grew up with cats). Above is an example from last night.

Over the weekend I helped Melissa with an trade show. We ended up doing pretty well at the show and the long hours were worth it. On Saturday evening, I came home and cracked open a bottle of Lawson’s Finest Liquids Triple Play IPA. I picked this beer up on my recent trip to Vermont to visit the fam.

The store clerk that helped me with this purchase indicated that this was one of Lawson’s best beers, so I came in with high expectations. The label called for tropical hop flavors, which got me even more excited! The beer poured with a terrific head that was thick and whipped looking; you normally only see this kind of foam on a stout or other heavy beer. I was let down a bit when at first taste I got heavy pine flavor. As the 7% ABV brew warmed up, I got more citrus. I never got the strong tropical flavors I was giddy for.

Despite not getting what I expected, I still enjoyed the beer. If I saw it on tap, I’d consider getting it again. If you’re into super hoppy beers, I’d recommend this to you.
